Variable settings
The model editor for Compound Models is the same as the model editor for Equation Models. You specify the settings of each variable here:

| • | In the Name row, you can change the variable name. These names can be used to clarify the model for its author. In addition, variable names are sometimes shown to the learner in assignments, for instance in specification and optimization assignments. |
| • | In the Type row, you can change the type of the variables. Depending on your model structure, SimQuest already specified variable types for you. |
| • | In the Range row, you can specify the range of values for the variables. |
| • | In the Value row, you can specify initial values for the variables. |
| • | In the Unit row, you can enter which unit you want to use. |
| • | In Min and Max, you can enter the minimum and maximum value the variable can have for input. |
