Authoring a SimQuest application

Creating your own SimQuest multimedia learning environments is not difficult: SimQuest was designed in such a way that it makes the authoring of educational simulations accessible to practically anyone. Authoring in SimQuest basically consists of selecting elements from a library (left window) and dragging them into an application (right window). In the figure below the application Motion is used as an example. This application is included when you download SimQuest.

Dragging and dropping in the SimQuest authoring environment.

To work with the SimQuest authoring environment, no coding or advanced computer experience is required. Besides being easy to operate, SimQuest is very flexible, giving the authors the opportunity to create instructional environments to their own liking, but still in a matter of hours.

If you are getting started with authoring in SimQuest for the first time, it is recommended that you first take a look at some existing simulations, which you can find here. There are over twenty to choose from. You can modify them in any way you like, or just use them for inspiration for your own applications!
