Assignments are used to help guide the learner in the discovery learning process (planning). Assignments can also be used to put the simulation in a certain state (e.g. set certain initial conditions), in order to point the learner to interesting phenomena.
The figure below shows the learner view, with the assignment on the right.In this type of assignment, known as an Explicitation assignment, the learner can select multiple initial states and has to choose the correct (multiple choice) answer.
